The $50 Tacha Freedom Award, formerly the Freedom's Frontier Award, is sponsored by the Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area. This is open to all Senior and Junior entries, regardless of category.  It is awarded to one Junior and one Senior entry that best exemplifies the ideals of shaping the frontier, the Missouri-Kansas Border War, or the enduring struggle for freedom within the heritage area.

To be eligible for this award, students must complete the award nomination information within the online registration system, including an entry description and how the entry is related to the award by the registration deadline date.

Nominations must include the following to be considered:
  • Entry description and how it relates to the award topic
  • Mailing address for each student associated with the entry

If it is deemed that there is not an entry that meets the criteria, the award will not be given.
