This $100 award is award at the Kansas History Day State Contest to the best entry on an unsung hero.  The Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heros works with schools around the world to teach respect and understanding among all people, by developing projects about unsung heroes whose actions promote these values, regardless of race, religion and creed.  An unsung hero is one who created positive change in history by improving the lives of others, and has yet to be recognized for his or her actions.  If you can Google them, they probably ARE NOT an unsung hero. For additional information regarding the center and unsung heroes projects, please visit their website at http://www.lowellmilkencenter.org/.
